Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know to help you be informed and prepared.

Where is the retreat being held?

Tӓlta Lodge is located at 44 Talta Lodge Way in Stowe, VT, on the banks of the west branch of Little River. Right between Stowe village and the mountain, Tӓlta is a 7-minute drive from Stowe Mountain Resort and 10 minute drive to the center of Stowe village.

Can I bring my child or pets?

We welcome friends, sisters, mothers, and people who will go through or have gone through menopause. We invite you to leave behind those adorable, lovable distractions, such as children or pets, so you can make this weekend all about you.

Do I have to be a certain age or have gone through menopause?

We ask that attendees be at least 21 years of age, but other than that, any humans who identify as female and want to learn more about staying well through the menopause transition are welcome. We suggest that women ages 30-70 may find the retreat’s focus most relevant.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Friday, May 1st, Check-in 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
Sunday, May 3rd, Check-out by 11 AM, with luggage storage available all day.

Can I come solo?

Of course! Maybe you are seeking some peace, quiet, or alone time? Or, are looking to meet some new midlife friends? You’ve got it. We can’t wait to host you.

Do I need to sign up for anything in advance?

Only if you want to schedule your own spa treatments or additional classes through Salt + Grove or book a massage or rolfing treatment at Tӓlta Lodge.

What about the weather?

Vermont spring is also a season of transition. Temperatures are usually mild, but variable. They can range from daytime highs of 55–70°F (13–21°C) and nighttime lows of 35–50°F (2–10°C). Mornings are cold and misty, while afternoons are warmer if the sun is shining.

As trees begin to leaf out, the maple syrup starts to flow and mud season claims the back roads and thawing ground. Daylight stretches longer into evenings and nights with clear skies, and you are rewarded with stunning stars.

Layers are your friend when it comes to staying comfortable in Vermont’s transitional spring season. A waterproof jacket and mud-friendly shoes are a must.

What do I need to bring?

Packing can be stressful, especially for Vermont’s variable spring weather. So we’ve made a packing list to help lower your stress.

What if I’ve never done yoga or meditated?

Retreats aren’t just for yogis! We have selected all-level yoga classes for Saturday and Sunday mornings. Not feeling it? Go ahead and sleep in – your body needs to rest! The weekend offers a diverse array of offerings on purpose. Each workshop welcomes the first timer and the pro, the expert and the clueless. You get to choose which sessions feel good for wherever you are at.

Our teachers and leaders will use meditation as a tool for grounding, growth, and learning. You’ll have the opportunity to try it out or return to it as a way to connect to yourself after the weekend is over.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Your retreat leaders have worked closely with a local chef and a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist to offer you artfully prepared, delicious, and healthy meals during your stay. There will be vegetarian and vegan options at all of our meals.
